THE ESOTERIC TEACHINGS

These are some of the essentials in the esoteric teachings taken from:

"Gods, Science and The Secret Doctrine" by Christopher P. Holmes:1a

About Oneness:

There is but one indivisible and absolute Omniscience and Intelligence in the Universe, which thrills throughout every atom and infinitesimal point of the finite Kosmos.1 (S.D. I, p. 277)

An Omnipresent, Eternal, Boundless, and Immutable PRINCIPLE on which all speculation is impossible since it transcends the power of human conception. . ." unthinkable and unspeakable." There is one absolute Reality that antecedes all manifested, conditioned beings. This Infinite and Eternal Cause is the rootless root of "all that was, is, or ever shall be."2(S.D. I. p.14)

The first fundamental dogma of Occultism is Universal Unity (or Homogeneity).3. (S.D. I, p. 58)

If the student bears in mind that there is but One Universal ELEMENT, which is infinite, unborn, and undying, and that all the rest -- as in the world of phenomena -- are but so many various differentiated aspects and transformations of that One, from Cosmical down to microcosmical effects, from super-human down to human and sub-human beings, the totality, in short, of objective existence--then the first and chief difficulty will disappear, and Occult Cosmology may be mastered.4 (S.D. I, p.75)

No manifested thing can be thought of except as a part of a large whole: the total aggregate being the One manifested Universe that issues from the unmanifested or Absolute--called Non-Being or "the One Number."5 (S.D. I, pp. 87.8)

The radical Unity of the ultimate essence of each constituent part of compounds in Nature is the one fundamental law in Occult Science.

The fundamental law. . .the central point from which all emerged, around and toward which all gravitates, and upon which is hung the philosophy of the rest, is the One homogeneous divine SUBSTANCE=PRINCIPLE, the one radical cause. . . It is latent in every atom in the Universe and is the Universe itself.6 (S.D. I, pp.272-3)

The Secret Doctrine begins with the Unity of creation, and all phenomena are regarded as impermanent and illusory differentiations.

Whereas occultism or mystical/spiritual teachings begin with the One and derive the manifold from the One, science has worked in the opposite direction. It began with the many -- the myriad of living forms and the manifest phenomena of Nature and strives towards understanding the ultimate causes and universal principles.

In their efforts to unify the laws of Nature and to understand the first moments of creation, scientists are arriving at the point where the mystics begin. Modern science and occult science are not incompatible but complement each other. The beginning, like the ending, is the Unity or wholeness of creation within the Absolute. All mystical and spiritual teachings are founded on this fundamental postulate of the Unity of all things.

Pythagoras saw the essence of Reality in the immaterial magic of numbers. He believed the Universe could be explained by the properties of numbers and their relations.

Many pioneering figures in science's early years, such as Nicholas of Cusa, Copernicus, Kepler, and Newton, displayed an avid interest in mystical teachings.

Newton's God did not oversee the maintenance of the world from some remote pinnacle. Instead, Newton's divine overlord was present throughout the material world. He achieved this omnipresence through the medium of Space, which, for Newton, was nothing less than God's sensorium. By his omnipresence (mediated through Space), God was all-seeing, all-discerning, and finally, all-ruling.

Newton's principles stood until Einstein's theories of relativity were formulated.

Einstein's theories of relativity and the development of twentieth-century quantum theory led to discarding several essential ancient ideas -- such as those of Absolute Space and Time and of the "aether," an immaterial something said to pervade all Space or to constitute Space itself.

Stephen Hawking, Leon Lederman, and George Smoot are Scientists at the heart of contemporary physics. They are obsessed with finding the ultimate TOE (The Theory of Everything.) They are associating a unified theory with God. In the introduction to Hawking's "A Brief History of Time," Carl Sagan alerts the reader that: "The word God fills these pages. The implication throughout his book is that a unified theory transcends space and time and somehow exists "beyond" the realm of material manifestation -- a feat traditionally attributed to God...

We should be skeptical of Dr. Hawking's interpretation of quantum gravity theory, as we are of Dr. Sagan's assurance that: "As we learn more and more about the universe, there seems less and less for God to do." But, as we learn more, we find deeper and deeper enigmas and mysteries.

Dr. Hawking "believes" that when he dies, that's it. He will cease to be, and there will be no simple retreat into mystical Unity, God, or heaven -- not even a black hole. (Pg. 36).

Madame Blavatsky (1888) noted, "The occult side of nature has never been approached by the science of modern civilization." The Secret teachings . . .must be contrasted with the speculations of modern science. Archaic axioms must be placed side by side with modern hypotheses and comparisons left to the sagacious reader (S.D. I, p.480)

The Secret Doctrine, written by H. P. Blavatsky, describes the creation of the Universe with its seven planes and so much more. That book was on Albert Einstein's desk when he passed away. We learn this from his daughter. These teachings are given to the students who receive the teachings of www.FreePythagorasTeachings and www.PythagorasTeachings.com.

Marguerite dar Boggia formerly served as Membership Secretary for ISAR, the International Society for Astrological Research. She was the past Secretary and Director of ISAR and Publisher of Kosmos, the ISAR journal. She is a co-founder of UAC and its past Secretary and Director. Her goal is to serve humanity and the spiritual Hierarchy of our planet. To that end, she offers free, online, three pages weekly of the Esoteric Teachings as known by Pythagoras. It prepares us for discipleship. To receive these studies, she can be contacted at her website, which she created at the age of 90: www.FreePythagorasTeachings.com
